How we write and review

Last updated 5 July 2026

How the health information on gynaec.com.au is written, medically reviewed, sourced and kept up to date, and the principles we follow to keep it trustworthy and independent.

1

Who writes and reviews the content

Every clinical page on gynaec.com.au is written and medically reviewed by Dr Priya Sivadas, a fertility and gynaecology specialist (FRANZCOG, CREI, MMed) consulting in Sydney.

Each clinical page shows who reviewed it and the date it was last reviewed, so you always know how current the information is.

2

How we write

Our aim is to explain gynaecology and fertility in plain language, so you can understand your options and make informed decisions with your own clinician.

Content is educational and general in nature. It is not personal medical advice and is not a substitute for a consultation.

3

Sources we rely on

Pages are structured around reputable, evidence-based Australian and international sources. Where a page makes a specific clinical point, we cite the sources used at the foot of the page.

  • RANZCOG (Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists)
  • ANZSREI (Australasian fertility/reproductive endocrinology guidance)
  • Jean Hailes for Women's Health
  • healthdirect Australia
  • Cancer Council Australia and other recognised clinical bodies where relevant
4

How often we review

Medical knowledge changes over time. Pages are scheduled for periodic review and are updated when guidelines or evidence change. The last-reviewed date on each page reflects its most recent check.

5

Independence and no promotion

This is an independent education resource. Content is not sponsored, and we do not accept payment to feature or favour any product, medication, device or provider.

In line with AHPRA advertising guidelines, we do not publish patient testimonials, and we do not make claims about success rates, comparative superiority, or guaranteed outcomes.

6

Corrections

If you believe something on this site is inaccurate or out of date, we want to know. Contact us and we will review it and correct the page where needed.
